Blizzard screwed the spear?

[:1]Anyone else feel that blizzard screwed the spear over by making every runeword polearm instead or polearm/spear. The only real runeword you can use with a spear is botd.|||while Breath of the Dying is certainly the 'best' all around RW for spears, there are quite a few more options than just that.

Passion - 4socket weapons

Vemon - 3socket weapons

Silence - 6socket weapons

Call to Arms - 5socket weapons

Fortitude - 4socket weapons/armor

Phoenix - 4socket weapons/shields

Hand of Justice - 4socket weapons

Breath of the Dying - 6socket weapons

Malice - 3socket melee weapons

Strength - 2socket melee weapons

Honor - 5socket melee weapons

Wind - 2socket melee weapons

Eternity - 5socket melee weapons

Fury - 3socket melee weapons

while many of these are somewhat lacking, more than a few are quite capable of being endgame weapons, particularly some that grant OSkills (Passion, CtA).

In the end though, yes, spears & spear-zons got kinda screwed...



EDIT:

on further reflection, I really have to say that moreso than spears, orbs got the shaft in the Rune Word department... 'Venom' is the ONLY RW that can be used on orbs as orbs have max 3sockets and are neither ranged, nor melee (not quite sure what the deal is with that...).
