"-X% Target Defense" on PvP

How does it work on PvP? Normaly or with a penalty?

thx|||If you mean like the results of sticking an Eth rune in a weapon, I believe it's the same as it is for PvM bosses - it's effectiveness is halved. If you mean skill-based (like the Conviction aura) I think it works without penalty.

I could be wrong on both counts though.

Did you try searching? I'm sure I've read this before around here (but I'm too lazy to track it down for you )...|||conviction is no penalty but its only for the Enhanced defense, so if a barb had ~1000% enhanced defense its now ~900%. Basically -ed from conv is worthless, eth rune on other hand is half in pvp so its a bit useful since it total defense. Only prob is the most you will get out of it -12.5% from rune words like botd. you could put 6 eth runes in a phase blade to reduce targets defense by 75% making you hit them like crazy, but its pretty much only useful with cough* FIRE CLAW WOLF DRUID cough* (since weapon doesn't matter for fire claw damage.|||Well a 6-eth phase blade fireclaw hits at best 11 fpa. A 4-eth, 2-shael pb hits at best 9 fpa. A smiter, zealot, bearsin, kicksin all can hit you at least 2 times in that timespan. Also most people will have fhr, fbr, or fcr faster than that so they can escape or hit you right back before you land your second hit. In most situations, this type of weapon would not be useful.
