Damage rollover?

Quote:

just remember that any damage above the max damage limit will cause a rollover (dealing much less dmg) . 87k somewhere is the limit afaik. (can't bother looking up exact)

What exactly is this damage rollover I keep hearing about?|||AFAIK the rollover occurs separately for physical, magical, fire, cold etc., so you cannot reach it, except when cheating with with hacked gear on single player. For continuous damage it depends on damage per frame (0.04 seconds), not on damage per second or over the whole duration.|||So at what point does it rollover number wise?|||I don't know at which point the overflow occurs, but I think that 87k sounds OK (respectively it's probably not off by more than a factor of two).|||50k lightning damage (from dual dream etc. and very very high mastery) with monster resist at -100% counts as 100k lightning damage AFAIK, and will cause rollover. But as mentioned, it's not a problem in 99.99999% of all legit-gear cases.|||o.O I've done some Open playing a few years back, and you could cap smite at over 500K.

Then there's the 8.6 Million life and 1.7 or 2.6 Million mana.

Many "mock PI clones" come with this standard, but I doubt I can link to the sites since they're always with forums.

Then again, these are the kind of chars that test the 8KB limit.

Not sure if being edited / pre-made chars has to do with it.
