Socketing magic items

what are the odds for 1 and 2 sockets when larzuking a magic item? a necro head to be more exact. is there a cube recipe for the same rezult and does it affect in any way the bonuses already present on the item before cubing it?|||50/50 chance for magical items, unless the item can only get 1 socket anyway, at which point you'll have 100% chance of 1 socket. Check out http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Sockets to see how many sockets an item can get at certain ilvls, but Necro Heads should be fine.

There is a cube recipe to add sockets to magical items as well, though it only works for weapons and not armor. Plus these recipes do reroll the magical bonuses.|||thanks a lot.|||iirc circlets have a 75/25 % chance of getting 2/1 sockets, coronets, tiaras and diadems however have 50/50|||@Krupa: I think you are thinking of the cube recipe for white normal items, not the Larzuk socketing for magic items.|||Quote:

someone told me this once, but never bothered to check if its correct. so it might be utter false information. was hoping for someone to comment on it being accurate or wrong, so id know

but even what i typed was false. i heard for circlets it is 75% of 1 and 25% for 2 sockets|||It's wrong.

Larzuk adds 1-2 sockets to magical items, with an equal chance, except for items with a maximum of 1 socket, of course, like a few daggers and wands.

The recipe adds 1-6 sockets to nonmagical items, capped at its maximum (which also depends on ilvl), i.e. too high rolls are turned into the maximum, although it might be just 1-4 for armor. I'm not sure about that, but my observation is that I get 4 sockets for armors and shields (when possible at all) far more often than anything else, so I believe it's 1-6 for armor/shields/helms as well.|||Quote:

Yes, this is what I have read somewhere.|||When cubing, the roll is always 1-6, but when items drop, it is 1-x with equal chances, and x is the max sockets.
