Throwbarb helmet: 40ed or max jewel

Hello,

I have a throwbarb with the following gear:

2x warshrike / 2 x lacerator (use warshrikes mostly)

forti

those 350% ed vs demons 20ias gloves

high lord

If I understand the calculator corretly; with current setup, adding 15 ias jewel to my helmet wont help me at all with warshrikes.

So the slot in arreat is open for a jewel. I could get a 40% ed one; or a max damage one (I think max damage possible is 30, but it will be probably hard to get). Perhaps the jewel could even have a second mod (40%ed/dex) but realisticall it will be hard to get for me (dont know if 30max/dex is possible).

But the question which is open for me - what's better?

Im not even sure if +max jewel will work with double throw.

Also, as I understand, the damage on character screen should be halved to see the real one?|||You'll need 120 IAS to reach the next breakpoint, so you might be stuck with 70 IAS. Your not slow by any means at this point. You can whip up frenzy to speed up your throw damage.

Speed can be a bad thing for a throw barb. You'd rather focus on more damage than wasting away your stock faster.

As for the LCS, it's a chronic liar with a throw barb. You can't trust the damage listed one bit(says I can do 20k with wraiths, but that's a total croc).|||Regarding maxdmg vs. %ed, it depends on how much off-weapon %ed you already have and what the base damage of your weapon is. They go into different parts of the calculation. The more off-weapon %ed (i.e. from str/ dex, skills, auras and other equipment than weapons) you have, the better +max will be. Your Laying of Hands gloves might complicate the issue if it's a PvM character, so +15max might be better versus demons while 40%ed might be better versus the rest.

A jewel with %ed and maxdmg in the helm isn't be a good idea in any case because that combination is bugged when added to an armor -the %ed would only be added to mindmg.

+30 maxdmg isn't possible together with anything else, it's already an effect of two affixes and magical items cannot have more than two. It can't occur on rares at all.
