Question about duped runes inside items

If someone trades me a duped rune and i roll a RW with it what will happen?

If -II- and i socket the item with a rune, but won't complete the RW then what?|||Runewords work with dupes as well. Bnet just doesn't know yet that it is a dupe, else it wouldn't exist anymore. Maybe bnet cannot know if a rune in a runeword is a dupe or if certain items on their own are dupe at all, but maybe they do and they just don't act on it that severely for certain reasons. It's best to assume that a dupe or everything which involves one might be deleted at any time... and live with the loss if it happens.|||A duped rune that gets placed into a runeword is perm'd. It wont poof, but If there is a ruststorm it might delete the runewords made from duped runes, but from what I rememeber when you put runes into a runeword it changes the item id and so no longer is considered a dupe or copy, and is an original item. If you think you may be trading for duped runes, make sure that you can create the runeword in game before you leave or you might just lose your runes.|||Or in clearer terms:

Just assume that any rune you didn't find yourself, has a chance of being non-legit... and don't be too shocked if something in your inventory goes poof during the next RustStorm.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, since most of us on bnet do trading and there is no real way to tell if any foul play has taken place. Just don't get too attached to your virtual items, and if it happens... then it happens. You won't die or anything if you end up finding out weeks/months down the road that someone sold you a bum rune ;-)|||I don't think any runes in circulation on bnet will poof because the dupers just cube them to become 'legit.' Still, it's dirty if you think so :P
