SoJ hunting help???

so anyway i was running nm bosses the other night and andy decided she would drop me a SoJ :'D

very pleased i was with this that i immediately decided to carry on running nm, but is this the best place to get SoJs? i currently only can run nm due to my sorc being too vulnerable in hell (shes a orb fireball sorc)

i could get a sorc able to run hell dues to having a bit of wealth saved up

but ye my question is where is the best spots to run for SoJs and what char build best to use???|||Cold or Fire sorc vs. Nightmare Andariel @ players 3. Roll nice map, max mf and grind.|||Nice map? Something like that only works in single player, but as that's not mentioned, it's fair to assume that he's on closed bnet .

I suggest to sell that SoJ for decent MF equipment for hell, like Tal's set, 35% Spirit, Magefists, Nagelrings, WT, Rhyme+Ali Baba in the weapon switch and maybe also a cheap torch. Maximize resists with charms and use fire skillers in the remaining inventory space... and the cube, it's where the loot goes into.|||i have all of the gear you listed except spirit and a torch so not far off that, i forgot to mention i play on euscl , my main question is is it worth paying out more to do hell boss mf runs or stick with what i have now which runs nm effectively and quickly but worth tweeking?

level 83

20 frozen orb

20 ice bolt

20 cold mastery

20 fireball

1:frozen and shiver armor, tele, warmth and all the prerequisites for the skills listed

equipment is:

full tal set

342 def lidless

magesfists

35 wts

soj ring and manald heal

5fhr sc

thats all i have atm, so nm or hell and which will be best cost effective and most profitable long-term?

i think i have 14ists and a few ums and puls and pgems lying around and some good tradeables so i could get some half decent gear...

i also dont mind changing build if thats what you recommend|||if u want to find sojs, keep running nm andi. if u want to find other, sometimes more valuable items - but usually not, run hell|||You just lack a 35% Spirit monarch (no less!) to reach the 105% fcr breakpoint with Tal's and Magefists alone. Replace Manald Heal with a Nagelring, you don't need its mana replanishment bonus (Insight on your merc is enough for that). Your SoJ does a rather good job, but mainly because of its mana bonus while the +1 skills is barely noticeable (although that can be said about most +skills item on its own). You could replace it with another Nagelring and trade it for a sorc torch and fire skillers. That will improve your sorc more than a Soj does.

Your choice of skills is a bit suboptimal.

1 in tele, static, warmth and frozen armor

20 in fire mastery, fireball and meteor

20 in frozen orb

The rest in cold mastery

No points in FO synergies (it's not worth it) and beyond the first skill point.

Cold mastery only receives remaining skill points, you don't have to max it from the beginning.

A meteorb mainly kills with fire while FO is used as backup, on fire immunes. Finishing off cold+fire immune bosses is the business of her merc, an act 2 nightmare defensive with an Insight polearm and some armor and helm which adds (in order of importance) life leech, resists, faster hit recovery and attack speed.|||Quote:

thankyou krischan, i guess i'll get a token from someone and reset my skills

i do already have a fire skiller too that has 6strength bonus do you think its worth socketing tal parts with ptopazes? and is it worth investing in a gheeds?|||You should definitely socket the armor and the helm with ptopazes. For the orb I would use a rare jewel with resists and other useful mods, like mana per kill, strength etc.

Gheed's is rather cheap if you don't insist on a 40% one. 35% is OK as well.|||I usually find SOJs at summoner in hell. Andy can drop too in hell, but the best place is by far in NM.

Nice find ^^!
