Damage charms comparison

[:1]Hey guys I made a chart about damage comparison of what charms would work best for certain weapons. Now as you about to see I show the difference between a 10 max/ar/6 str gc and a 3 max/ar/2 str sc vs. x2 6 max/ar/5 str lcs. From what I have calculated here is what I got from the two statistics:

Quote:

highest grief pb damage w/ 10 max/ar/6 str gc + 3/ar/2 str sc:

grief pb damage- 435-440

grief pb benefit from charms- 469-489

grief pb average damage- 479

highest grief pb damage w/ x2 6 max/ar/5 str lcs:

grief pb damage- 435-440

12 max damage from charms

10 strength from charms

grief pb befefit from charms- 478-497

grief pb average damage- 487.5

highest ebotdz damage w/ 10 max/ar/6 str gc + 3/ar/2 str sc:

ebotdz damage- 185-545

13 max damage from charms

38 strength from charms and str on ebotdz

ebotdz benefit from charms and str on ebotdz- 255-770

ebotdz average damage- 512.5

highest ebotdz damage w/ x2 6 max/ar/5 str lcs:

ebotdz damage- 185-545

12 max damage from charms

40 strength from charms and str on ebotdz

ebotdz benefit from charms and str on ebotdz- 259-779

ebotdz average damage- 519

Now before you get all get upset about the calculations and say something like "the lowest grief pb beats the highest ebotdz" I know grief pb beats ebotdz by far. I was including the str from ebotdz that is why the number was higher than the grief pb.

Anyways, as we see the x2 6 max/ar/5 str lcs would be our winner for both weapons. Lets see grief pb benefited 8.5 more damage per row while ebotdz benefited 6.5 damage per row with the x2 6 max/ar/5 str lcs. So according to statistics the 6 max/ar/5 str lcs would be our best choice for inventory.|||Is this meant as a general lookup table for various weapons and which charms will be most beneficial for them (any char and specific char)? Or just to see which combo of GC+SC and LC+LC is superior for those 2 specific melee weapons?

Either way you might wanna include 4/xx and 14/xx charms in the comparision.|||Quote:

Thanks for your imput and I never thought about using a 4/ar sc or a 14/ar gc at the same time. I was thinking the str would be nice to provide that 1% ed more but I might do a comparison with those and see if they are better. Thanks for reminding me that though.|||So what are the options?

GC = 10Max|AR|6Str

GC = 14Max|AR

LC = 6Max|AR|5Str

LC = 8Max|AR

SC = 3Max|AR|2Str

SC = 4Max|AR

If we are calculating whats best per row of 4 in our inventory:

4x SC will always loose.

2x LC 6Max|AR|5Str looks to be the winner...|||Quote:

Ok so that would be 12 max/ar/10 str vs. 16 max/ar per 1x4 row. I will need to do calculations for a 12/ar gc and a 4/ar sc. Well I think I will do the calculation later for the 16 max damage. Nice input on this post anyways.|||When just considering weapon damage and because min/max dmg bonuses are added before off-weapon bonuses are applied, the effect of +min/maxdmg is obviously better for BotD because it adds off-weapon %ed through its str bonus.

However, Grief has ITD, so in PvM, non-bosses are hit 95% of the time (assuming the character is at least ~L85) and thus deals more damage through +min/max bonuses.|||^Agreed, these damage comparisons are incomplete without factoring in all other damage bonuses. There is no one-size fits all solution when it comes to charm setups for specific weapons. A build that is heavy on off-weapon %ED will see better return with more +min/max damage, while a build that is heavy on weapon damage will see better return with more off-weapon %ED. Your examples feature zero(the grief) to very little(the eBotDz) off-weapon %ED to begin with, which is why the charm setup with more +strength is favored.

What I'm saying is you can't find the "best" charm setup if the weapons are the only things you know about the character.|||No one is upset, but your results will have to be factored under "inconclusive." You would need to include ALL gear, stats, skills, etc and let those be the basis of your comparision. You can't just multiply the damage of a weapon by 1.4 because there is a strength bonus...

Since you seem to want to put some time into it, I would suggest googling "CharSi character simulator" and having a play with that.
