Do facets work with elemental dmg charms/weapon mods

I'm sure its been asked before, but every search result ends in trade forums with facets and charms, which is pretty much each and every one of them.

BUT!

do facets work with charms and weapon mods, say a 5/5 Poison facet add dmg/-resist for a poison small charm/etc|||You can restrict the results to this strategy forums if you use advanced search

Yes, it does, but only if the attack is melee. If the source of elemental damage is a skill*, it applies twice. For example, if Holy Shock adds 300 damage and you've got 50 damage from charms, two perfect lightning facets will:

apply to the skill damage: 300 +10% = 330

and again to your final damage if melee: (330 + 50) +10% = 418

(a ranged attack would just do 380)

*More specifically: Enchant, Venom or the Holy xxxx auras|||Doudble application only works on certain skills which can benefit or be applied on others, like the holy xxx auras and enchant. That's interesting, I had no idea it doubled for melee. Does anyone know why it doubles? Is it a bug (kinda like cube socketing ethereal armors)?|||* cough *

If it's a skill that just adds elemental damage directly +% damage only applies once.|||To clarify, +% Skill Damage applies to a skill which adds elemental or poison damage to any attack, then applies again when that added damage is applied by a melee attack. So this only applies to Enchant, Holy Fire, Holy Freeze, Holy Shock and Venom.

This does not apply to skills which only add elemental or poison damage when using that skill: +% Poison Skill Damage only applies once to Poison Dagger's skill damage since it is only added when using PD, just as +% Lightning Skill Damage only applies once to Power Strike's skill damage since it is only added when using PS.

The character screen displays +% Skill Damage being applied to elemental or poison damage added to ranged attacks as well, but this is not actually the case... although +% Skill Damage still applies to any skill damage: +% PSD applies to Plague Javelin's skill damage, but not to any poison damage added by items and Venom (but +% PSD will apply to Venom when it is cast, before its poison damage is added).|||Oops, not having really used it before, I forgot Poison Dagger was not something you casted :blush:
