How exactly does the more people in a game thing work?

[:1]So I know that more players in a game means more hp, dmg and def for monsters but how does it work? If a player joins the game midfight, do the monsters get a sudden boost or are existing monsters sticking to their low levels of hp/dmg/def? And same if someone leaves - do monsters get weaker suddenly or...?|||If it works like it does in single player (with simulated extra players using the /players x commant), then the monsters spawn when you get within a certain distance from their spawn point. Its about 2-3 screens away. The number of players at the moment when they spawn will determine their HP, damage, XP and no-drop risk. This will not change for these particular monsters even if the number of players changes.

Chests and other containers "spawn" when you open them, so the number of players at that moment determines the no-drop risk.|||There is an attack rating bonus too. The damage/ar bonus is 6,25% for each additional player. It is present on nighmare and hell difficulties but not in normal.|||Sometimes I'll wait until a few bots enter my game at the same time before popping a Gold Chest. If you can stand all the spam, it helps.
