Proc-based character

[:1]So, I'm going to have some fun and try to make a character based on item affixes that cast spells on attack and when struck. The main point is more about being spectacular than effective, though the character should be playable for at least a dozen levels (around level 25 since that's the affix lvl).

So far I'm thinking of a frenzy barb with a weapon with cast chain ligntning in one hand and nova in the other - but maybe an assassin using the weapon speed bug would be faster?

I've somewhat forgotten the finest diablo mechanics regarding weapon speed so any help would be appreciated.|||The most common proc builds are probably rift/voice of reason users. These runewords have chance to cast frozen orb, which is one of the few spells that is effective without synergies and thus remain damaging even when in this form.

Zeal paladins, kickers using dragon talon, and frenzy/double swing barbarians work well for procing in general.

Strafe bowzons are probably the best at procing, but they are locked into using missile weapons of course ... which is fine since a brand runeworded bow is the most showy weapon you can get, the bone spears are not as damaging as rifts FOs though ....



In the necromancer forum I've also seen a breath of the dying necro that relied on the chance to cast poison nova on kill to chain cast nova while only running around ... works on weaker targets, but not a chaos 8p killer I have to say ...



Check out the skill granting items link in my sign.|||The fun ones are the ones using synergies though. The only characters I find fun nowadays are those based off procs. I'm quite an expert on the matter

A voice of reason sorc with snowclash would be nice (max ice bolt and blizzard/frozen orb to synergize ice blast, blizzard and frozen orb). Death rw works too.

A crescent moon sorc with 2 wisp projectors also works. Druid with stormlash. Druid with windhammer + carrion wind + rain (optional).

Nec with BotD + andy's + carrion vines (optional) is also a classic. Brand necro, oath necro, bonehew necro to name a few. Heaven's light pally is fun (remember to use t-god's vigor). "dragon" rw bear sorc is fun. The earth shifter druid as well. Or the phoenix/destruction druid.

Don't try to find a character based on procs. Look at an item with procs and think "how could I utilize this the best?"|||this is one i've wanted to make for a while.
